A Modern Outdoor Ceremony at Rockbeare Manor | Lucy & CalumSome weddings stay with you long after the day has passed — and Lucy and Calum’s Rockbeare Manor wedding was one of those. Set against the elegant backdrop of this iconic Devon wedding venue, their day was modern, joyful and full of heartfelt moments, with a breathtaking outdoor ceremony at Rockbeare Manor. Held at the South Pavilion surrounded by the most beautiful florals.
As a Rockbeare Manor wedding photographer, it’s always a joy to return to this venue, but no two weddings here ever feel the same. Lucy and Calum brought their own energy to the day — relaxed, fun, and completely smitten with one another.

The South Pavilion at Rockbeare Manor is an incredible setting for an outdoor ceremony, and Lucy and Calum’s florist transformed it into something truly special. Soft pastel blooms framed the entrance and lined the steps, creating a romantic, garden-inspired feel that perfectly complemented the Manor’s elegant architecture.
Guests took their seats in the sunshine as Lucy made her entrance, the Pavilion doors opening onto a scene that felt both intimate and grand. The ceremony was full of laughter, emotion, and that unmistakable buzz you get when two people are completely in love and surrounded by everyone who matters most to them.

Lucy and Calum are one of those couples who make photographing weddings effortless. From quiet, emotional moments to spontaneous laughter, their connection was evident throughout the day. They weren’t worried about stiff poses or formality — instead, they focused on being present, enjoying every second together.
After the ceremony, we explored the grounds for relaxed couple portraits, making the most of Rockbeare Manor’s sweeping driveway, elegant façade and surrounding greenery. These moments felt natural and unforced — just Lucy and Calum being themselves.

From Lucy’s effortlessly modern dress to the soft, romantic florals carried through the bouquets, every detail felt thoughtfully chosen without being overdone. The atmosphere throughout the day was relaxed and joyful, with guests enjoying drinks on the terrace before the celebrations continued inside.
Rockbeare Manor is the perfect balance of grandeur and warmth, making it ideal for couples who want a luxury wedding day that still feels personal and fun.

The wedding cake was a beautifully understated centrepiece, perfectly in keeping with the soft, romantic aesthetic of the day. A modern, textured white design, it was styled with delicate pastel florals that echoed the colour palette seen throughout the ceremony and bouquets. Set against the light-filled interiors of Rockbeare Manor, it felt refined and timeless — a subtle but thoughtful detail that tied the whole day together effortlessly.

Having photographed many weddings here, I know just how special Rockbeare Manor is — particularly for couples planning an outdoor ceremony at the South Pavilion.
