Hello, I’m Colette — the photographer behind Aurelia Allen Photography. I’m an editorial style wedding photographer photographing elegant weddings across South Wales, the Cotswolds, Somerset and throughout the UK.
Since 2015, I’ve photographed more than 300 weddings, from intimate celebrations to large country-house weddings at venues including Hedsor House, Brympton House, Clevedon Hall and The Manor House.
My photography blends natural storytelling with an editorial eye. I’ll gently direct you when it helps, then step back when the moment needs to unfold naturally — creating photographs that feel polished and beautiful without losing the emotion of the day.

My work sits between editorial portraiture and natural documentary photography. I love beautifully composed portraits, considered light and the quiet details that give a wedding its atmosphere — but I also want your photographs to feel like the day actually felt.
I’m comfortable giving direction when you need it. I’ll help with positioning, movement and light so you never have to wonder what to do in front of the camera. Then, during the moments that matter, I step back and let them happen.
The result is a gallery that feels elegant and refined, but still full of personality, movement and genuine emotion.

I've always been fascinated by interiors, architecture and the way light moves through a room. It's probably one of the reasons I love photographing country-house weddings so much.

Collecting Art & Heirloom Pieces – I’m captivated by pieces that carry history—handwritten letters, vintage cameras, and timeless art that tell stories beyond their time. Beauty with meaning is something I treasure.

Slow, Meaningful Living – In a world that moves fast, I cherish slow mornings, handwritten notes, fresh flowers, and meaningful conversations. The little moments are often the most beautiful.

Before photography, I spent many years as cabin crew, travelling all over the world. Shanghai and New York remain two of my favourite cities. Those years gave me a lasting love of people, culture, architecture and beautiful places — and undoubtedly shaped the way I see and photograph the world today.

Fine Dining & Wine Culture – There’s something special about a beautifully set table, a thoughtfully prepared meal, and the perfect glass of wine. I love experiencing culinary artistry and the way it brings people together.

I love black and white medium format film photography. The soft gradients of gray, the velvety blacks, and the luminous whites create a painterly quality—each frame feeling like a still from a classic film. There’s a texture and nostalgia to black-and-white film that I’ve never quite found anywhere else.

At weddings, I often bring a roll of film to capture that silent, grainy beauty, adding a timeless, cinematic touch to your wedding story.
