THE VENUE GUIDE
Rockbeare Manor is a venue that is steeped in history. Set in over 100 acres of glorious parkland in East Devon. This exquisite Grade I listed Regency house has a timeless elegance about it and is filled with a variety of gorgeous settings for your day. The balconied Bridal drawing room is the perfect place for Brides to enjoy a few mimosa's while priming with her closest friends. Meanwhile, Grooms and their guys will feel right at home in the Billiard Room.
With several unique ceremony locations, you're sure to find one perfectly tailored for your day. Say I do in the splendid Adam-style Dining Room or under the archway of the South Pavilion with views of Dartmoor in the distance.
As you walk the grounds, you’ll capture photos that will grace your home for decades to come. You’ll dance the night away inside the grand ballroom with twinkly lights and elegant chandeliers and you’ll always remember how beautiful your day truly was.
It's the day of your wedding and sunlight is streaming through the trees along the driveway, while daisies blow gently in the fields beyond. In the distance you catch a glimpse of this magnificent Regency Manor House...
THE PERFECT VENUE

Literally the best day EVER! From the moment I booked Colette through to our wedding day she has been amazing. She managed to capture such magical moments. We've had so many compliments about our wedding album. Our wedding photos were even published in a bridal magazine!
“We couldn't imagine a more beautiful place to get married!”
The manor of Rockbeare, meaning 'Rook Wood', is Grade I Listed and a fine example of a Regency country home which looks as though it has come straight out of a Jane Austen novel.
There for it is an absolute must to have some elegant joy filled fine art portraits in front of this splendid venue.
The balconied Drawing Room on the first floor has the most exquisite views of the estate and parkland and is the perfect space to relax and get ready in. This room with it's floor to ceiling windows is a photographers dream: bouncing light from every angle resulting in breathtaking luminous portraits.
The South Pavilion, located on the south lawns, is a beautifully quaint spot to hold an outdoor ceremony. Surrounded by the picturesque parkland and situated next to the peaceful fountain, the orangery and it’s courtyard offer a charming backdrop for your special moment.
For the Groom and his groomsmen, Rockbeare has the Billiard Room, with its low lighting and antique billiard table, and fine art painting. This is a welcome retreat for the men of the wedding party throughout the day.
The beautiful light filled spacious Ballroom, seats 50 - 160 guests for an extravagant wedding breakfast. The giant contemporary chandeliers, high ceiling and full-length windows overlooking acres of parkland give the room an expansive, airy feel, perfect for fine art wedding photography.
I always consider the time of the year you are getting married to make the most of the natural light. Sunsets at Rockbeare Manor are exquisite. I would recommend 20 minutes of portraits in and around the estate during cocktail hour and 10 minutes before sunset in the beautiful daisy field.
The wedding ceremony is the main focus of your day. It is important to consider how the timing of your ceremony will impact on the rest of your itinerary. Rockbeare Manor recommend between 2 – 2.30pm for your ceremony, this allows enough time to get ready in the morning without feeling rushed, with plenty of time for food, drink and celebrations!
Yes, definitely! The bridal party have access to the venue from 11.30am for wedding preparations. Rockbeare Manor also ensure that at this time your bedroom (if you are staying overnight), Drawing Room and Billiard Room are available for you to use to get ready.
If you are thinking of having a firework display please contact one of the team at Rockbeare Manor as this may be possible but only via their recommended firework supplier. Displays must start no later than 10pm. Sparklers can be used outside only. Sparkler exits are more popular in the autumn/winter months when it gets dark early.
