Every Bride wants beautiful ‘Getting ready photographs’ on their wedding day. In this post I have pulled together a few tips to ensure your gallery is full of beautiful ‘preparation images’.
These few tips, really can make all the difference!
IT’S ALL IN THE DETAILS
Chances are that you have put a lot of effort into picking out every little detail of your wedding day. From the shoes to the jewellery and flowers, all these details tell a piece of your love story! The beginning of the wedding day is the perfect time for me to capture all your pretty details before your bridal portraits and ceremony. Have these items gathered together ahead of time and ready for when I arrive, this ensures that everything is documented without running around in the morning to look for something!
Place all these items in a box or in one corner of the bridal suite for my arrival. I can then come and say hello to you and get straight on with shooting your details as you are getting ready!
Ask the venue to play your favourite playlist, these can be sent ahead of your day so you have another ‘to-do’ checked off your list!
If you have a wedding planner chances are you will be left to enjoy your morning in complete privacy with your family and friends. If you have organised your wedding personally, various wedding suppliers may pop in and out of the bridal suite throughout your preparations. In either case these beautiful kimono’s are a must and a lovely keepsake from your day.

WAKE UP AND MAKE UP!
Ask that your make-up artist and hairdresser sit you by the main window in the room to allow all that soft light to wrap around you for your photography
CHAMPAGNE & LOVELY TREATS
Make time to enjoy a glass of bubbles and have some candid shots with everyone surrounding you on this momentous occasion.
Your day should be filled with everything you love, including treats and nibbles!
If your Groom has written you a love letter and left you a surprise gift, be sure to open this before your mascara is applied and your makeup artist has left!
To capture beautiful images of your wedding gown and you getting dressed, keep the area around the main window clean and clutter free. Purchase a beautiful hanger for that dream dress.
If your wedding gown has lots of buttons, a crochet hook can work wonders in getting you dressed on time. Ask your seamstress or bridal boutique what size hook you will require.
Work with your photographer and planner to ensure your ‘Wedding Day Timeline’ leaves you enough time to capture your ‘Getting ready photographs’ and have some portraits taken with everyone present.
Lastly, before you leave for the ceremony take a minute for yourself, read over those vows, take a deep breath and love every minute of your fabulous celebration!
